Buckman honored as Governor’s Volunteer Star for West Tennessee

Buckman received the Governor’s Volunteer Star Business award for West Tennessee at the 2018 Tennessee Conference on Volunteerism and Service-Learning. Buckman was nominated for demonstrating an outstanding record of dedication to communities in the West Tennessee area.

In 2009, with support from a global team of Buckman employees including Buckman’s now-CEO, Junai Maharaj, the global BuckmanCares initiative was founded by Kathy Buckman Gibson. Its mission was and continues to be ensuring Buckman is a responsible corporate citizen by encouraging and supporting local communities both financially and through the volunteer efforts of its associates. In 2017, 45-percent of Buckman’s U.S. employees volunteered more than 6300 hours, and globally Buckman associates volunteered nearly 8900 hours.
